Inside the Burswood Precinct: A Local's Guide
Locals still call it 'going to Burswood' — a peninsula of parkland, river and one very large resort, ten minutes from the CBD and fifteen from the airport.
Where the precinct sits
Burswood is a green elbow of land on the Swan River, directly east of the Perth CBD. The resort precinct occupies the river side of the peninsula, wrapped by public parkland and the Camfield foreshore, with the stadium footbridge arcing across to East Perth.
What surprises first-time visitors is the scale: hotel towers, the casino, a theatre, more than a dozen restaurants and bars, the lagoon pool deck and a golf course all inside one walkable precinct.

The river edge
The foreshore path loops the whole peninsula — about three kilometres if you take the long way past the bird sanctuary. Early mornings it is joggers and black swans; evenings it becomes the city's best free sunset show, with the CBD skyline lighting up directly across the water.
Guests often walk the loop before dinner, then drift through the resort for a drink. It is the rare casino precinct where the best part costs nothing.
People fly in for a conference and end up booking a weekend just to finish the foreshore walk.
Stadium nights
On event nights the precinct changes gear — sixty thousand people cross the footbridge toward the stadium, the bars fill two hours before first bounce, and the river lights up with the stadium's halo. If you are staying over, book dinner either well before or after the crowd peak; if you are attending, our suite desk can hold a room within walking distance of everything.
Getting there without thinking
From the airport the precinct is a straight run down the Great Eastern Highway corridor — fifteen minutes in ordinary traffic. The stadium train station sits at the precinct edge, and rideshares use the marked bays at the porte-cochère. Guests who prefer not to think about any of this use the chauffeur desk.

What the concierge actually recommends
First visit: walk the foreshore at dusk, late supper menu after nine, breakfast on the terrace. Return visit: a cabana day, then the theatre package. Locals: join the rewards card for the dining priority alone — the fifteen percent saving adds up faster than people expect.
